The famous swamp Rose-mallow and lesser celebrated American germander were putting on quite a show on LSSI’s Flagg Pond this mid-July. I don’t think I had seen such a strong showing from the germander on my previous Flag Pond paintings. This view was painted in situ over two consecutive mornings then lightly touched up later in the studio.
