On this overcast morning, there was nothing of interest on the eastern horizon at daybreak, but a serpentine relict of the last high tide caught my attention. I’m always drawn in by landscape elements that direct one’s view (and ones feet) from the foreground into the far distance. I had to paint fast to make it back in time for breakfast and the departing boat.
