I was still trying to wrap up a late afternoon scene when I noticed how rich the sunset looked. I quickly moved from my spot in an oak grove to this open view over the prairie remnant and laid down colors as fast as I could.
Someday, I might have to reimagine this scene without that hedgerow that’s blocking the horizon–the view as it was a couple of hundred years ago.
