Hibiscus grandiflorus (swamp rose mallow) is especially wonderful to see early in the morning when the colors are richer and the temperatures are cooler. Between sunrise and the midday heat of August is about how long it took to get this down on canvas. American germander, the other wetland flower in this picture, was also looking lovely.
