Since I was already set up for painting on the screen porch of LSSI’s Cedar House, but my daytime subject had now dimmed beyond recognition, I turned to the west for a narrow view of the horizon. I wondered if I were quick could I record the colors I was seeing, and could I do it twice to capture the change? Maybe I came close but I still felt the need to adjust a few things later in the studio, including what was a very crooked horizon in this one (I was in a hurry).
