Privately owned Horn’s Prairie Grove has one of the most intact prairie remnants of the Southern Illinoisan Till Plain. I loved seeing the patterns in the drifts of prairie plants that must’ve taken centuries to coalesce, albeit with the effects of hay making and livestock grazing in the last century. There are over 600 plant species documented on this Illinois Land and Water Reserve.
