At an elevation of approximately 10,000 ft. on the middle slopes of the volcano Tungurahua, this cloud forest orchid clings to trees and shrubs along with many, many other epiphytic plants. The orchid’s genus/species is cranichis pictus (based on expert consultation). Appropriately, in Latin pictus means painted!
