The “tinajas del Rio Anzu” are water-carved potholes in the bedrock at this site. There is a recently constructed metal stairway accessing them, but I left that out. The limestone-based river scour habitat supports a sun-loving lady’s slipper orchid (Phragmipedium pearcei), a few leaves of which are present in the foreground.
