The art installation La Ronda Parakata is a striking visual feature in the Burnham Wildlife Corridor, made all the more so in late summer by the blooms of the surrounding prairie restoration. This field study is a tribute to the partner organizations, community members, and artists who are forging connections between people and nature in this important section of Chicago’s lakefront.

Goldenrod blooms were actually a little past when I painted this study on site, so I recalled the conditions I saw on a previous week’s visit.
