Sometime a scene really grabs me. Walking a dirt path on my way to explore the groves on the far side of the preserve from where I parked, I was smitten with this view in the middle of the East section of Deer Grove Forest Preserve. So, I stopped and painted it! The name of the grove comes from it’s being unconnected to the surrounding woods, and like the wonderful prairie restoration around it, it is of recent origin.
