In this floriferous view of seaside goldenrod and muhly grass, the open horizon of the salt marsh, and beyond it the ocean, give a prairie-like aspect to the scene. Although painted in 2016, the view is based on photographs taken five years before in October 2011. Wax myrtles have become more dominant in this area since then.
Seaside Goldenrod hangs in LSSI’s River House.
The location of the viewpoint in the painting can be reached on foot just east of Sancho Panza Road. (Google Maps: 31.28345, -81.28557).
