Katama Plains (Airfield)

The meadows around Katama airfield have been maintained as a grassland since the early 20th century and have probably been in that condition since the 1600’s when Europeans introduced grazing and cultivating to the Vineyard. Before that, it may have been more scrubby. It is now in conservation.
