I made frequent visits to the bridge over Mosquito Creek on South End Road, not only for its views of the ever-changing marsh and sky but also to catch the occasional bug deterring breeze. I stepped out into the nearby marsh for this particular view of winter cumulus over the island’s south end marshes. My photo session there was in February 2012, and I completed the painting the following April. It now hangs in LSSI’s Helen House, guest room 2.
The viewpoint of this scene can be reached via LSSI’s South End Road, just beyond the bridge over Mosquito Creek. Located at 31.24092, -81.30551 in Google Maps.
