About 10 or so minutes into this study, the wind shifted and the brisk backing fire pictured here became a fast moving flame front, consuming my vantage point among the wiregrass and pine straw only minutes after the last brushstroke.
Part of my first experience painting prescribed fire. 2 days spent with TNC and GA DNR fire crews restoring the longleaf-wiregrass community at Moody Forest. Painted on location.
