This is a representation of the presettlement savanna landscape that might have been found in the area of present day Athens, Georgia, during the time of William Bartram’s travels in the mid 1770’s. It is based on my 1997 thesis research and ongoing exploration of natural southeastern landscapes.
Home studio painting – September.
