By bike, canoe, and foot, I transported the canvas from my brother’s neighborhood across the river and up onto Wilson Butte where it had to be securely tied against the icy wind. I worked a few hours the first day, left it there overnight, painted a bit more on the second day, and brought it back down to finish in the house once the reference photos were developed.
