Clays Ferry

Madison County, Kentucky
September 1991
Oil on canvas
24 x 60 in. (61 x 152.4 cm)

Private collection

Painted on a visit to Lexington Kentucky during a cross country bike tour, this painting honors the view my friend and former employer Ford W. Hall remembered of the Kentucky River and surroundings before the I-75 bridge was built. The old Clays Ferry bridge can just be made out in the lower right.

Diptych, painted on location. Fastened together on the back with yard sticks.
