While sketching the city from the old gaurdhouse, I looked back toward the upper gate to see a man taking a picture in my direction. Mr. Rehm was a German tourists that I was lucky to catch up with right after he took this photo. He very kindly sent me a print of it a few months later. On a more recent visit to Cortona, I noticed this part of the city wall had been fenced off.
